Welcome to Thriving Potential! I am pleased to meet you. I invite you to take a journey with me. This is a journey of self-discovery, leadership development and goal attainment. I hope to inspire you and offer you concrete tools to…

Let your potential thrive!

You could say I was raised to be an entrepreneur. Both my parents were, so I think it was a forgone conclusion.

After high school, I completed my undergraduate in business with a minor in psychology. From there I moved to Britain and obtained an MBA in Strategic Business Relations. I came out at the height of the 2008 recession and quickly found myself over-educated and unemployed….talk about eating humble pie!

Stripping my education off my resume (ouch!), I got a job for $12/hour as a Health Consultant for a weight loss chain. It was not the career I had envisioned coming out of fancy business school!

But, I loved this job because it allowed me to use my business skills for sales and also to coach people to obtain their health and wellness goals.Learning the true power of coaching, I would later get certified as a coach with the International Coaching Federation. I went on to buy my own locations of that chain and so launch my career as an entrepreneur.

I have also worked in finance, healthcare, and extensively in the retail sector, most notably completing a turn around on a multi-million dollar company and taking it to market to sell successfully. Turnarounds seemed to be my niche. I loved the challenge and the constant change. There is always a goal with a tight deadline and that thrill is my jam.

Pivot…

I couldn’t shake my passion for understanding what makes people tick. Besides, a big part of turnarounds is the people. I had been through some really tough situations in my life, and had always been fascinated with personal development. My Masters and Doctorate in Psychology were completed while working in business. Once I finished my last business turnaround, I began the licensing process to become a Registered Psychologist.

I think the two blend beautifully together. After all, we are all the culmination of our personal AND professional experiences. I don’t believe we leave our personal lives at the door when we go to work. If you are as lucky as I am, then you have a career you love and it is part of the fabric of who you are.

My life has been dedicated to accumulating the knowledge and skills to help people from a well rounded perspective. One that addresses both their personal and professional selves. I love working with people to define and achieve their goals, to improve their performance, and to overcome any obstacles between them and the life they most desire.

I hope this blog inspires you and offers the insight and practical guidance you are looking for to make your dreams a reality.
